Description: Arachnea is a large, aquatic arachnid. It is a large predatory creature that feeds on smaller animals and insects. Its abdomen is quite large, and makes up nearly 70% of its body weight.

Ability: It has evolved the capability of using magic to walk and skate across water like its much smaller relatives, the Water Strider, and is capable of living successfully in wet areas because of this.  It has a max running speed of 30m/h and a tough carapace surrounding most of its body. The only spots vulnerable to conventional weaponry are its underbelly, eyes, mouth, and spinneret.

Side note: The Arachnea's silk is made of an incredibly strong, air-tight and water resistant material capable of holding its weight effortlessly, and as such scientists and magicists have long researched the structure of the material and ways to use apply it in human and merleon life.

Common Name: Hell Wolf

Description: A Hell Wolf is a large, vicious monster-wolf. It is a large predatory creature that feeds on smaller animals, and as most animals are smaller, that means it feeds on just about anything it comes across. Hell Wolves possess thick, coarse hair that is generally pitch black in color, and very tough and fibrous. Their eyes have black sclera, and are usually red in color.

Ability: The Hell Wolf is a, as its name implies, hellish evolution of a wolf. They are capable of running at a casual speed of 15mph, and have a maximum speed of 80mph for very brief sprints. Hell Wolves have very thick hides, capable of stopping bullets at only a half inch penetration. Hell Wolves also possess teeth and claws that inflict poisonous infections on victims.

Side note: Hell Wolves will attack anything, with exception to other Hell Wolves, but only emerge from their lairs at night. As such, they rarely encounter people or other daytime creatures. Hell Wolves that live near cities or villages are often dangerous, and exterminated as soon as possible.

Common Name: Ogre (Ogrus Pervalidus)

Description: The Ogre is a humanoid, and fully bipedal. However, that is where their similarity to humans end. They have thick, dense muscles, and are incredibly strong and durable. Ogre's have thick hair covering their body, except for the face, and this hair is very thick. Hair colors are generally ranging from blue to purple. They appear at first glance to lack iris or pupils, but the pupil and iris are simply the same color as the sclera, which usually ranges from red or yellow.

Ability: The Ogre is a primitive creature, comparable in intelligence to a very very early version of human kind. Ogre's are slow, but once they build up momentum little can withstand their charge. One thing that makes Ogre's unique is a natural magical ability, which allows them to use mana to reinforce the hair covering their bodies until it can withstand steel blades. This instinctual spell has been dubbed “Ogre's Steel Hair”, and a replication has been made though no true use has been found for it as Humans lack the amount of hair Ogre's possess and Merleon's are entirely hairless.

Side note: Ogre's have little mind for defense, tactics, or intelligence. As such, they are easily defeated by means of magic, traps, or using fire to remove the defense granted to them by their hair. As the hair defense is only activated by the Ogre's feelings of being threatened or agitated, a surprise attack would also work provided one made it count.
