Shindig City Ruins - Harlequin Theater Lobby; Monday January 21st, 7:01 P.M.

And then Project studied Xero's form and realized he was talking to an unconscious man. Seeing Xero's limp form hanging over his own weapon, the black man blinked in surprise and confusion at him, then tapped him. The man easily fell over, limp and unmoving.

"Shit," Roy knelt down and looked at the man, then opened his eyes. The man's eyes had gone completely white, with no sign of his irises, and an eerie blue glow was starting to enamate from them.

"YOUR END IS NEAR, VERMIN. THE CLEANSING OF THESE ISLANDS HAS BEGUN." Project took a step back in surprise at the sudden speech, but it continued on unperturbed. "THE END OF THE HUMAN RACE IS NIGH AT HAND. PRAY TO WHATEVER PATHETIC GOD YOU MAY, BUT THERE IS NOWHERE TO RUN, AND NOWHERE TO HIDE, FOR WE ARE ALL SEEING, ALL KNOWING, AND ALL POWERFUL."

Then the man's eyes faded back to normal and Project glared down at him.

"Well what the fuck was that?" He wondered, before shaking his head. Suddenly, he heard something heavy land behind him and turned around in time to see something he... did not really want to see, rising up off of the ground.

The... thing looked at him and opened its mouth, and started coughing. It was the most disgusting sound he'd ever heard in his entire life, and the thing wretched all over the place, spilling a disgusting looking mixture onto the ground that started eating through everything. Then, as it started coughing again, green and purple smoke began to emanated from every visible... orifice on its... body.

Project quickly bent over and grabbed Xero, then started looking around. All of the halls were blocked off now by the fire, so there was only one choice left to him.

He turned and started running towards the main entrance. When he got outside, he saw them all slowly marching towards the theater under the light of some strange blue glow that extended around each of them in a sphere. It was quickly becoming darker and darker, and the creatures had noticed him and were starting to advance on him.

'Well,' He sighed, resigned to the huge numbers of demonic and nightmarish looking beasts coming his way. 'It was fun... until now.'

And then he heard the voice of a young girl calling out to him.

"Quick, this way!"

He blinked and turned, looking towards an extremely pale skinned, small girl child who wore a white dress and had green hair in two pigtails standing to the side of the building at the entrance of an alley. Project quickly looked up at the dimming sky ring.

'Strange child appearing out of nowhere and calling me over?' He glanced back towards the fanged monsters as the loud coughing behind him became more audible. 'Ah, what the hell. Gotta try something.' With that he ran, quickly as he could with his passenger, towards the alleyway. When he reached her, she ran into the alley, then turned and looked up at him with shining red eyes and spoke.

"Come on, hurry!" Shrugging, he did just that, and she lead him over to a steel grating that covered a large square hole. The girl bent over and lifted it up easily, which surprised him, and hopped down into it, landing with a splash in some dim, greenish water.

And then he stopped moving completely - even his heart for a moment - as he could finally hear it. The sound of a million squeaks in the distance as the Zubites emerged from their daytime hiding places to begin the feeding frenzy.

"Hurry!" The girl called out with urgency, and he did just that, jumping down into the hole as she pulled the grating back over the hole,

He quickly jumped down into it and watched as she replayed the steel grating. Seconds later he could hear the cries of beasts that had not had the fortune to have light nearby them as the 'bites ripped into them above.

The little girl looked up at him with a frantic look.

"Give me your flashlight," She said. He blinked and then reached into a pocket before handing her a small flashlight, which she turned on. The light, though small, was bright enough to light up the entire tunnel they were in, and the sides had been chipped away so that the bulb's light reached all around them instead of forward in a beam. She looked up at him and spoke again. "Come on, we're still not safe yet!" She said before she started running down the hall with the flashlight.

Project blinked after hearing and seeing her speak. Her mouth hadn't moved?

Regardless, she was right, by proxy. They weren't safe now, and they probably wouldn't be safe ever again.

With that last thought, he started running after her into the darkness... only to trip and fall suddenly when an explosion rocked the tunnel.

"W, what the hell?" He stood up and looked down at Xero. "Damn it, why won't you wake up?"
